waking up to your eyes
and how they make me
not care for sleep
although I catch them only briefly
they are my breakfast tea
swirled with honey
my crusty sourdough
scraped with chocolate hazelnut
big beautiful sleepy eyes
milk chocolate tint hypnosis
with lids weighed heavy
stuck together
but blinking, independently
like an old robot
back to work
or a slow jellyfish
softly gliding through the rip
the brightest brown irises
granting momentary luster
sparking the light inside of my own
i capture every glimpse of sun
you gleam
with my photographic memory
brain film
i count each kiss your eyelashes
give one another
each thrust they make
when you yawn, half asleep
falling in out and between
count each kiss i give your lids
braiding your dreams
